We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to Rotary Club of Ely President, Phil Smith and the club for its generous support following a recent talk about our work and the difference we make to local families.

On Thursday 3rd September, Janine Kohan visited the Ely Bowls Club to speak to members of the Rotary Club of Ely about Home-Start Cambridgeshire and how we support parents and young children when family life becomes challenging.

Following the talk, the club generously increased its initial £100 donation with a further £400, bringing its total contribution to an incredible £500. This additional support will help us continue our vital work with families across the local community.

Supporting families when they need it most

We support families with at least one child under the age of five who are facing difficulties that can make family life feel overwhelming. Family difficulties can affect anyone, regardless of their financial circumstances and sometimes, having someone to listen without judgement, offer practical help and provide encouragement can make all the difference.

Our trained volunteers offer free, weekly home visits, helping parents build confidence, strengthen relationships and create a positive home environment for their children. Last year, we supported just over 200 families and 410 children, helping parents feel less alone and giving young children the best possible start in life.

Helping us reach more families

As a self-funded charity, we rely on donations, grants and fundraising activities to deliver our services. The generosity of organisations such as the Rotary Club of Ely plays an important role in helping us continue supporting families when they need us most.

Thank you, Rotary Club of Ely!
