Home-Start Cambridgeshire is delighted and honoured to have been chosen by Danny Brooks as his Captain’s Charity of the Year at Cambridge Meridian Golf Club.

The club’s Captain’s Day raised an incredible £1,700 to support local families. Danny has been busy fundraising for Home-Start Cambridgeshire throughout his year as Captain, so this fantastic amount will be added to his growing fundraising total.

Held on Saturday 5th September, Captain’s Day brought club members together for a brilliant day of golf, fundraising and community spirit.

Throughout the day, golfers generously supported the charity by purchasing mulligans, while some friendly competition helped boost the total even further through chipping and putting challenges. The day rounded off with a fantastic raffle, giving everyone another opportunity to get involved and show their support.

Hayley Norfolk, CEO of Home-Start Cambridgeshire, said:

“We are incredibly grateful to Danny for choosing Home-Start Cambridgeshire as his Captain’s Charity of the Year and for the enthusiasm and commitment he has shown to fundraising for us throughout the year so far.

A huge thank you also goes to Cambridge Meridian Golf Club, Janine from our staff team, our wonderful volunteers who support the activities on the day, everyone who took part in Captain’s Day and all those who donated so generously. Every pound raised helps us to be there for local families when they need support, and we are so grateful to everyone who helped make the day such a success.”
