Home-Start UK’s film, The Reunion, has won a People’s Choice Award in its category at the Smiley Charity Film Awards.
The Smiley Charity Film Awards recognises the amazing ways that charities use films to tell the story of their work. From tiny local charities, to huge international organisations, all films are celebrated at the awards ceremony in London’s Leicester Square.
The Reunion tells the story of Sam, her daughter Mollie and their volunteer Marie. Marie supported Sam 20 years ago, when Sam was experiencing postpartum psychosis. The film brings Sam and Marie together for the first time since that support ended two decades ago, and Sam has a surprise for Marie – she has brought along Mollie.
The film reflects the long term impact that Home-Start volunteers make and the award is dedicated to all of the incredible volunteers who do so much to change lives.
