Over one month on from the Cambridge Half Marathon, we are still celebrating the fantastic success of the event.

Thanks to the incredible support of our runners and donors, we raised an amazing £8,726.45 — far exceeding our original £5,000 target.

Janine Kohan, Community Representative and Volunteer Experience Co-ordinator, shared “it was a pleasure to be in Cambridge on the day of the half-marathon, flying the flag for Home-Start Cambridgeshire and showing support to our inspirational runners. I was able to cheer as some ran across the finish line – the atmosphere was electric. The collective efforts of our team of runners will make such a difference to us and the families we support!”

Hayley Norfolk, CEO, said “at the cheer point in Grantchester we were able to offer support and motivation to our amazing team of runners. Seeing their tenacity was brilliant and some were still very much smiling! So many other runners gave a shout out to Home-Start as they passed by, and several stopped to tell us how much they value our work. One of our runners had the privilege of meeting another runner, by chance, who shared their story of receiving Home-Start support when their children were younger. That was a special moment for them and one which no doubt motivated them throughout the course.”

We are extremely grateful to everyone who took part, donated, or supported us along the way. Your generosity and commitment make a real difference to the families we support—thank you.
