Our Board of Trustees:
Jo Studdert, Chair of the Board
Jo is a retired primary school teacher, having begun her career in an ex-mining town in Northumberland, followed by many years in Inner London, mainly in Hackney and Tower Hamlets. After moving with her family to Cambridge, she soon joined the staff of Queen Edith Primary School as Deputy Head and SENCo. She started a Home-Start prep course 3 weeks after her retirement and loved her time as a family visiting volunteer. Her volunteering then took a different turn as she became a trustee of Home-Start Cambridge and District before the merger which formed Home-Start Cambridgeshire.
Parvin Wynn, Vice-chair
Since 1985 Parvin has been volunteering, both here and in Australia. She was a founding member for JCI Milton Keynes. In Australia she was vice chair for Doncare Community Services, member of the Oxfam Skill Share Committee and the Australian Institute of Management Leadership Development Committee. Parvin joined Home-Start in 2012 and brings business and organisation planning skills to the team. Her work experience includes Project Management in the Computing Services industry followed by senior management roles in Financial Services. In 2008, Parvin was awarded the ‘Menzies Community Australia Day Award’ for her contribution to the community.
Sue Wilson, Treasurer
Sue is a director at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) specialising at work primarily in employment and tax issues for fast-growth businesses. She is a chartered accountant and chartered tax adviser. Outside of work, Sue also acts as treasurer for her local church and independent examiner for another small charity. Sue joined the Board of HSC in 2015 as treasurer and brings primarily financial management and regulatory skills to the team.
Aaron Venables, Trustee
Aaron has over 20 years of commercial and leadership experience managing various sales and marketing teams in the Life Science and Pharmaceutical industries. His current position is as General Manager for Weatherbys Scientific. Aaron has been on the Board of Trustees since August 2015 and is also our Data Protection Officer. Prior to that he served on the board at Home-Start Glasgow North and also worked on the Scotland Appeals Committee for BBC Children in Need.
Shân Lloyd, Trustee
Shân has over fifteen years experience working in the public sector in a range of roles including community development, performance management and policy development and implementation at a local and national level. Shân currently works for central government supporting local economic growth. Shân joined the Board of Trustees in February 2017 and brings with her experience in fundraising and working with volunteers and staff. Outside work, Shân has two young children who keep her very active.
