Families on and around Trumpington Meadows in Cambridge are getting greater access to services from our charity thanks to new support from homebuilder Barratt Homes Eastern Counties and the co-land owner of the site, Grosvenor Britain & Ireland.

Each business has provided £5000, donating a total of £10,000 to help Home-Start Cambridgeshire extend the number of families it can help.  This has given an enormous boost to our work in Trumpington Meadows and will go towards training and support for volunteers and recruiting staff to supervise them.

Mark Cotes, Managing Director at Barratt Homes Eastern Counties, said: “It is really important to us that we create a community as well as new homes at Trumpington Meadows and that includes helping families in need both on and surrounding the development.  We’re delighted to have been able to support Home-Start Cambridgeshire and hope the donation can help many families in the area.  We understand that moving to a new area can create issues for families with young children and the work that Home-Start does is vital to combating isolation and assisting families through difficult times.”

Merlene Austin, Community Engagement Manager, from Grosvenor Britain & Ireland, added: “We are proud to sponsor Home-Start Cambridgeshire.  The work they do is invaluable in helping to ease the burden of what can be a very stressful time for families when moving.  It is people who make a place successful.  We want to see a happy and healthy community thrive at Trumpington Meadows and we believe Home-Start Cambridgeshire can help make that happen.”
